The fine line between greed and aspiration

Dear readers, let me touch two short but important topics.

The first one is related to the fine line between greed and ambition/ aspirations. People usually ask, should we have greed? My answer is yes as long as its a positive one. As long as it generates a flame or a drive within to achieve it. As long as it can be categorized as ambition or aspiration. Without aspiration, it’s difficult to proceed and move further as a society. My humble submission is, when we cross that line by pulling someone else’s down either by karma, speech, or thoughts, we have crossed the ambition, and ventured towards the dangerous and spiral path of greed. And once it starts, there is no end.

If you just see the history, whenever there was greed and not ambition, the humankind had to pay. Astrologically, the 11th house is our fulfillment of desires. But traditionally all the sages have considered it a malefic house ( which at present people don’t consider and rather wants more of it) , primarily because when the soul is on the path of higher achievement, this creates hurdles and mostly push people downward spiral path. Because many people just don’t realize that fine line between greed and aspiration.

The second topic is related to authority and ego. Generally, when we see that when people get authority or seat of power, more often than not, the ego develops. To me, it looks very natural or normal. One should only recognize this and work towards this. The very Karaka of power and authority is the Sun. But in most of our chart, Sun might be afflicted in this Kalyuga. Sun might be placed in bad houses, in not so friendly signs, exalted ( I will also take this as a pinch of salt), debilitated, in fiery sign so adding more fire, or aspected by natural/functional malefic. When the Sun gives us power or authority, it expects us to be righteous and follow the path of dharma. The epitome of a high order and the right Sun is Lord Sri Ram. When the situation demanded, he left his kingdom and went to exile. But in Kalyuga, demanding the perfect Sun is a far cry, and hence our all efforts must be to make it right and balanced. As I have mentioned earlier, one’s horoscope is actually an opportunity and the tests and learning of life. So remember to keep your ego in check, whenever you are in a seat of power in any situation.
